Manifesto
The name 'Vero' stems from the Latin root for Truth. We eliminated sponsored pins, ad bidding wars, and tourist traps. VeroMaps is an honest, living organism built for people who want unvarnished reality and authentic discoveries.
Cities hold thousands of quiet wonders: secret courtyards, secluded reading spots, acoustic sanctuaries, speakeasy bars with no street sign, and slow walking paths ignored by commercial navigation giants.

On the atlas today
The atlas grew a passport, a feed, and rewards you earn with your feet — not with taps.
Every explorer is the Newcomer. Recolour it, then dress it with clothes unlocked by real field work: audits, sound readings, seasons, and on-site discoveries. The wardrobe is the same on a phone as on a desk.
Open Discover and scroll one place at a time — photo, quiet score, story. Long notes expand with View more. Cities and themes sit on compact pills instead of a wall of cards.
Adding a place needs a tight GPS lock and a live photo from where you stand. Sound is a bonus. That is how a pin earns its keep, and how Place Finder and Atlas Finder are awarded.
Ten on-site discoveries unlock the Atlas Cloak — a forest cloak with the VeroMaps north mark. Achievements are recognition, not a shop: they show on your profile with honest progress.
Field method
Three steps. No sponsored pins. No guessing from the sofa.
Filter by season, city, quiet, or era. Save what you want to walk. The catalog only loads when you need the map, so the rest of the app stays light.
